No tests or anything today! YESYESYESYESYES.
And so, in celebration, I have a few projects. The first two are just experiments with the theme of sleep (because I'm deprived of it). Both of them are kind of crappy, but I was sleepy, so I have an excuse. Sort of.
And the second... Yesterday night, I decided to challenge myself by writing a TWO-LINER YAOI CHAIN! Yes, this is me being bored and a dork. And I had to invent a few cracky-pairings to keep it going, too. ^^;;
What it is: Two sentences for each pairing. Thirteen pairings, no repeats. Twenty-six pieces. Fifty-two sentences, total. Yup-yup!
So here are the supaa-special one-shots:
Title: flush
Pairing: Fuji Syuusuke and Echizen Ryoma
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Theme: #6: 夢と現の間 (the space between dream and reality)
Disclaimer: Prince of Tennis belongs to its creator, Konomi Takeshi. This fanfiction was written for entertainment purposes only.
flush

Ryoma burrows into the comforter that Syuusuke has pulled up over him and Syuusuke, in response, smiles to himself, feeling the warm soaring emotion somewhere inside him.
It has been a long day for both of them, but Ryoma especially; he is still only fifteen, and the tournament took a lot out of him. By the time they got home, there was little he could do but stumble into bed and curl up over the stuffed cat Fuji bought him when Karupin died.
Syuusuke carefully runs his fingers through the dark hair spilling over the pillow before rising from the bedside and pulling out a futon from the closet. This is just a sleepover, after all -- if Echizen's parents were to check up on them, it would not do to be in a compromising position.
Or so Fuji tells himself.
--
It is later in the night, when Syuusuke is drifting between a dream and waking consciousness that he realizes that there is more warmth pressed flush against his body than should be possible. And then it registers somewhere in the back of his mind that there is another body with him, breathing with him, sleeping with him.
Ryoma's lips are against his neck, his arms thrown around Syuusuke's waist, his fingertips light against the exposed skin of Fuji's back. Fuji shifts a little and pulls Echizen even closer, letting the warmth flood every inch of him. He smiles softly in contentment before wandering back into dreamland.
Screw parents.

Omake
Nanjirou gapes.
"R-rinkoooo!"
"I'm right here, dear," his wife, murmurs, and forcefully drags Nanjirou out of the doorway.
"But--but--girls! They're--"
"They're boys and cute. Leave it alone."
Nanjirou lets out a strangled wail.
"My daughter-in-law..."

[ i feel drained... exams... real life... i'd like a warm body to snuggle up to. ]
[ music i was listening to while writing this: Dakishimetai by K, Mighty Wing by Okiayu Ryoutarou, and Yudan Sezu ni Ikou by Shirota Yuu. mmm. ]
[ regarding the omake: the way i wrote them reminds me of Tamaki and Haruhi from Ouran. huh. ]

rabbithole

Tonight is the night that Akaya dreams of getting pushed into a rabbit hole by a girl with short brown hair and hairclips and terrifyingly bloody red eyes that taunt him. She reaches out and shoves him back and down he goes, falling and falling and falling inside the space/time warp that is the rabbit hole.
After a thousand years of falling, when he finally reaches the other side, where everything is very un-Munchkinland in black-and-white, Akaya is showed into a palace by Atobe and is told that he has to sit on the ceiling and write a hundred letters of apology to Tachibana Kippei before he can finally use the court out back. So he does, and there go another thousand years as he writes and writes and writes and writes, and Atobe laughs and says that he's going to go dust the music room.
When the letter-writing is finished, Akaya stretches and slumps and walks on the ceiling until he reaches the courts. First, of course, is the matter of kicking out Yagyuu and Niou, who are playing golf with flamingoes as clubs. Then is the matter of digging up his racket from beneath the grass-that-turned-to-clay-as-soon-as-Akaya-touched-it. Which might not have been a problem if Queen Yukimura hadn't kept distracting him with that axe of his.
Then he realizes that, duh, his racket isn't buried under the clay after all; it has been beside him all this time, and Queen Yukimura smiles and faints away.
So he gets up and wipes his dirty hands on his tennis jersey and faces the opponents who are across the court -- Sanada and Fuji. They leer at Akaya when they catch him staring, and tell him that he's been wrong, wrong, wrong all this time. Akaya, in his panic, serves the ball at their knees and plays the not-game. He is losing badly by the time their features shift and he faces off with Kamio Akira and a nameless, faceless Rikkaidai player. This game Akaya wins, and they go to the next one, where Kamio suddenly morphs into Tezuka Kunimitsu.
Akaya reaches over the net to kiss Tezuka-san's hand and congratulate him for winning the World Cup against Jackal and Brazil. And then the faceless Rikkai player becomes a menacing, sneering version of Akaya and smacks his mirror image across the face.
At this point, Akaya is startled into awakeness by Kajimoto's none-too-gentle prodding and shaking.
"You were yelling about rabbits," the Jyousei Shounan player explains muzzily, without preamble. "I felt it beneficial for both of us that I wake you up now."
"Nnn," groans Kirihara. "Din't wake you up yesterday."
"Yes," Kajimoto agrees, slowly falling back asleep on his feet, "But those were turtles."
"Shuddup," retorts Akaya, and promptly falls back into the rabbit hole.

[ i am extraoridinarily tired. blaaaah... ]
[ i thought that Kirihara and Kajimoto being roommates during the Senbatsu was an odd pair, so i wanted to write it, but still, this is rather sill and confusing and turtles and rabbits? mmkay... ]
[ originally part of my attempt to write Tezuka/Kirihara, which failed this time around but which i haven't given up on. so there. ::is shot:: ]
...And the two-liners are coming up next. ^^ They get their own post, of course.
