...that I was at mass with my parents. The priest had us sing Rebecca Black's "Friday." Afterward, I told my parents that it made me feel like I could invent pretty freely in my fiction, because "real life will always be stranger." At one point, my mother told me that the priest had traveled, had spent some time in Japan and Korea. He had this special box with lots of compartments. If you placed it on the secret marble table hidden in every Catholic church, my mother said, one compartment opened up, revealing a treasure. The priest traveled in order to open all the compartments.

After church, I played a video game with a young woman who owned a polish deli. She gave me a bag of golumpki.
