It's a little early, he knows this, but there's something a little awkward about trying to celebrate an anniversary so close to Valentine's Day. Mathias can be romantic when he wants to, but he isn't one for traditional gestures and so, rather than wait for the anniversary of their first date to approach, he's prepared something now. There's a part of him that's nervous, a part that wonders if Veronica is going to appreciate what he's done or if she's going to be uncomfortable with it, but he's trying to ignore it.
In his hut -- the hut he lives in alone now -- there's a dinner spread out. A blanket, food, dessert, drinks and a small bouquet of flowers in something that's almost a vase. As far as dinners go, he thinks it looks rather nice and so he closes the door carefully and heads for Veronica's. She knows he's coming, but she doesn't know what for. He's made sure to keep it to himself.
Knocking softly on her door, he takes a step back and waits with his hands clasped behind his back. He's nervous, yes, but he's excited as well. They've made it this far and if he can keep from screwing things up, he hopes this will just be the first anniversary they celebrate together.
