He is my new favorite singer. I generally don't claim to have favorite singers, but today I will. I usually claim to have favorite songs- ones that I listen to over and over again- generally repeatedly in one sitting. Anyway- this guy has some amazing stuff.
'Please Don't Stop the Rain' happens to have been on repeat for most of the day. It's generally about a romance, but today I don't care that I can't currently relate to the topic per se in the context, but all in all- it's helped me get through a day that started with a call from my Mom, which started something like this, "Are you at work?"
Me: Yes Mom, I am.
Mom: Well, I have some bad news.
Me: I guessed as much.
Mom: Uncle Eli passed away last night.
Me (with tears welling up, much like they are now): I know, I guessed that is why you called.
A call like that is never easy to answer although I know there are people I have deeper connections with which would make a phone call like that hurt more, but still- Uncle Eli was great.
