tale of closing part II
we just met with the realtor and signed an extension of the contract. the owners are pissed but they want rid of this house more than we want to buy it, so they are not going anywhere. We have the document we need on order from the check issuer's bank. so, we may be in our home as early as tomorrow.
the realtor explained that the underwriter is the god of home buying and that whatever they say goes, and that they can be complete jerks and request obscure documents at the last minute just because they want to and no one can tell them no, because they hold the keys to the funding.
on a positive note- i got my crackberry today. i am having lots of fun figuring out how it works. hello to not paying attention in meetings anymore hehe.
also, Thursday is commencement (held at Darkstar's workplace) with honorary doctorate Michio Kaku- esteemed physicist and discovery channel regular. ryan was tasked with creating a digital device for each of the graduates, like last year. so he will be up all night for the rest of the week competing that task. then there is a book signing at changing hands from 3-5 for Dr. Kaku. Friday is a fancy luncheon with presentation by Dr. Kaku followed by an awards ceremony, where ryan is a nominee for an award. busy week.
