So all the 'buzz' in Cincinnati right now is about the 17 year Cicadas that are supposedly going to show up any minute. First they were going to be here last weekend according to the idiot newscasters. Apparantly they forgot to tell the cicadas, because they were a no-show. Now, they are apparantly waiting for a big rain to soften up the ground according to Jim O'Brien, a meteorologist for a local news station here. BTW, he really gets on my nerves big time, and I have no idea why. He also needs to shave more often. There's nothing worse than a little short man with a high pitched voice with stubble on his face.
Anyway, there are people selling Brood X shirts, cicada rackets for family summer fun and just about anything else you can think of regarding cicades. There are even recipes for cicada pies, cicada stir fries, cicada smoothies and the list goes on and on. It's really kind of funny to see all of these people running around talking about nothing but cicadas. Surely there are more important things to do.
