So after a ridiculous few days:
- Got laid off
- Went to an Everclear concert
- Hanging with Athena and Michelle
- Car broke down (I freaked out)
- Birthday party
- Burned the Rotel dip
- Not good news about my grandmother
- Hung out with my boyfriend
- Dinner with my family
It's my birthday! :P LOL I came close to just breaking down between the car getting fubarred and the Rotel dip getting fubarred. But I think I held myself together pretty well. And so far, this birthday has been pretty decent. My awesome boyfriend treated me to a Better Bacon Cheddar on Asiago Parmesean bagel (my favorite - OM NOM NOM). My car is back in my possession after a relatively inexpensive fix.
After I brought my car home, I hear the doorbell. Well, of COURSE I'm in the freakin bathroom. Seriously, people don't knock on our door that often, but I swear that 50% of the times people knock on the door I'm in the bathroom. :P By the time I make it down to answer the door, no one's there, but there's not a package or a note either. Whatever. So I go back to my room to print out my resume and my phone rings. So I run back downstairs to get it. It's some guy from Edible Arrangements asking me if this is my home number. I inform him that it's a cell phone whilst thinking, "Um, I didn't order anything from you, PLEASE don't charge me for anything. And how the eff do you have my number anyway!?" He was like, "We tried to deliver something, but there was no answer at the door so we left your delivery with your neighbor." Ohhhhhh. It's my birthday, right. I don't know why I keep forgetting, I have a BAZILLION emails from people posting birthday wishes on my facebook wall. LOL
Anyway, I go to my neighbor's and she brings out this big bouquet of fruit flowers. Flowers made out of fruits! The petals are made out of pineapple and the insides are melon balls and grapes! I'm like, "This is freakin awesome! Who sent me this!?"
And I find the tag, which reads, "Para una AMIGA muy especial, on this birthday where we are a bit more than 30 miles apart. Que la pases excelente, Lety"
I read that and I just start crying. Like, I'm still outside, walking back to my house and I'm crying. That was so effin sweet of her. And before she left, she was like, "Don't worry, it'll be like when I was in Chapel Hill, just 30 miles away. We won't be able to hang out as much, but we'll keep in touch."
Gosh darn it, I'm crying just typing this. Which is bad because I have an appointment at the Career Center at Meredith soon. lol
I miss Lety. And she knows I like fruit. She's so sweet. I can't top that. I'll just have to go visit her or something.
Okay, I need to pull myself together and get ready for that appointment.
birthday,
lety
