LOL, half the drama in this LJ is car drama. XP

So, I heard from the car people this morning. Apparently my axle just freakin popped up of wherever it was supposed to be. FAIL. That also caused the ominous leakage I noticed when the car was being towed. But he said they put it back and drove it around up hills and around corners and such and it wasn't having any problems and I could come pick it up whenever. Well, I was already on my way to work at that point, so I'd arrange picking it up later.

After I was at work for a bit, I get ANOTHER call from them. Apparently they were testing it some more and the mechanic noticed a funky noise. So brought it back in and took another look at it and the axle was loose. They took a good look at it and it seemed the cuff or latch or whatever connects that junk to the car was wearing down. So they recommended I replace it, for about $235. Please. That's like the cheapest repair I've been offered for this car. So I told them to go ahead.

When I went to pick it up later, he told me that when they replaced it, it fit in really well, really snug and secure and all that. So, good stuff.

He also mentioned that the power steering pump was leaking. *sigh* I know that. I supposedly had it repaired at the Infiniti place, but that didn't do it. Whatevz. I just make sure the reservoir is full and carry on. He also mentioned that the alternator may need to be replaced soon. Whatevz. The pump replacement would be $600. The alternator would be $400.

I think I'm getting a new car. It should be fine for now but I think I just need to get something that I don't have to be paranoid about it breaking down every few months. I'll see what kind of funds I have after taxes and what's available -- care-wise AND loan-wise. When I was making loan payments on my current car, it wasn't hard, plus I paid it off early.

Blah, I dunno, we'll see.

But I haz my car back, yay! Just in time to drive in icy conditions. :P
