writing random scenes instead of one story

Okay, I tried that whole “work on one story until you finish it” thing. It got me nowhere. I just couldn’t finish the story so I didn’t do anything else. Since I wasn’t working on them, the scenes that are in my head were evaporating before I could get them down. Well, that didn’t work. So, now I’m writing all the scenes that are in my head regardless of the story they belong to. I hope that will keep them from evaporating. I had a neat little bit about Lockhart in the Chamber of Secrets that I forgot. I know I wanted to do something with him there, but I can’t remember what story it went with or even what the details were.

I was able to get part of a bit of romance between Arthur and Molly. I didn’t get the rest written, but I put the outline down so that I can pick up from there. I think I’ll integrate that with a related one so that it can have a framing story and I can get a more cohesive story with the merger. I’d rather have one story of decent length than two tiny ones by themselves.

I also got a scene where Lucius was giving ~5 year old Draco a lesson in the art of deception. That one’s been in my head for a while and I’m glad to get it committed to a more permanent form.
