Eric had raised her to be a strong self sufficient vampire, but it was nice to know that even though they were now both human, so he couldn't technically be her Maker, he wasn't about to abandon his role as such. Not that she expected he would, although lesser vampires might. It was why Eric was such a good Master, why she came without complaint when he Called her from Minnesota to help him run Fangtasia, and why so many other vampires chose to settle in Area 5. He took care of his own.
"No matter the hour, no matter the reason," she repeated speculatively, stroking her chin with a devilsh glint in her eye, as if thinking of all the ways she could annoy Eric at all hours of the day and night, even though they both knew she would do no such thing.
"If what you say is true, then there is no online shopping. So an excellent pair of pumps is not something to be taken lightly in this place," Pam retorted in her defense in his hypothetical scenario, rising and pushing in her own chair when Eric did. She did not concern herself with what would happen to her used place setting, she didn't care if she was human now. Pam did not bus her own dishes.
Pam returned Eric's glance with a speculative one of her own as she contemplated the differences and merits of used clothing versus vintage clothing. And while she thought that rummaging through an old dusty attic was probably tilting closer to the used clothing side of the scale, she supposed that beggars can't be choosers, even is she was more the type to make others beg.
"I can't even begin to fathom what you would want with that combination," she said dryly, knowing very well what Eric's intentions would be by picking those two particular items.
"Oh wouldn't that be a twist," she said with a light tinkling laugh. She could only imagine how Eric would handle having two telepaths in his life.
"But I'm sure the actual telepath is wondering if you're ever coming back," she mentioned lightly. She wasn't sure exactly what time it was, her instinctual knowledge of how long till sunrise gone, now that she was human. But she was sure that it had been at least a few hours since her arrival, and while he had made it clear that he would stay as long as she wanted, she didn't want Eric to feel as if he had to baby-sit her all night.
"Adjust" she scoffed lightly, she was no where near adjusted. Sure she could fake it well enough, but she knew it would take time to completely come to terms with what had happened this night. "Who would have thought it would be easier going from human to vampire then back?"
"But I think I shall go back to my room and rest, I am tired," she admitted, a bit dubious at the very idea of feeling the need to sleep so far from dawn. Also the irony that she had just risen from three days aground and now a few hours later she was resisting the very human urge to yawn, did not escape her.
It made Pam feel marginally better to know that she wasn't the only one who felt completely thrown through a loop by all of this, and that perhaps she wasn't the first to exude a bit more confidence than she was actually feeling
( ... )
Pam frowned as the doors opened up with a soft ding and she stepped into the waiting elevator.
"But infection is not as bad as it once was," she said in a cross between a question and a statement. In her time as a human (the first time around) people died of infections, even if that’s not necessarily what they called it. And while she hadn't really made a practice of keeping up with medical advancements over the last few centuries, she was more than aware that many of the serious illnesses of yesteryear were hardly worth mentioning in the modern world she was taken from.

Well... unless she was really really bored.
