Aeryn jumped and turned, her hand automatically going for the holster without thought. She backed away from her weapon when she saw it was another person from this ... prison.
She leaned against the wall, hand on her stomach. "Hungry," she said in her own language. To a human it sounded like their language backwards. "I can't find any frelling food!"
Did everyone here speak human? Was this earth? She stood, "sorry. I ...do not... talk human. Good." She remembered some of the basics that Adora had been showing her. "I ... food. Need." She patted her stomach. "hurt."
"Right," Jack said, still looking at her oddly. The hotel had translated that German boy. And the creepy guy in the suit. "Dining room should be over here," he said, nodding the way he was going before starting walking again. "Come with me."
Aeryn walked with him. "Aeryn" she said pointing to herself. She then pointed at him. "you?" She had no idea that there was anything wrong or different about how her translation. All she knew was that she understood him as usual, but clearly he did not have translator microbes and couldn't understand her. "This earth?"
"Captain Jack Harkness," he said. He glanced over at her. "Jack," he repeated, pointing at himself. "And this isn't Earth. As far as we can tell, it's some kind of extratemporal holding cell or bubble." He looked over. "Like a prison outside of time and space."
Why was it always a prison? "You ...um," she flailed her hand for the word. She grimaced lightly and sighed, She hated feeling like she couldn't talk. It made her feel like a child. "No word." She was trying to say criminal, but she didn't know the human equivalent. "Prison ... reason?"
Then she had to wonder how the hezmana she got there. "How here?"
"Anyone ... escape?" She asked. She may have wanted to get away from John. From her feelings. But she never wanted to get stuck. Now she had the baby to think about. She lay a hand on her stomach. She could hold the baby in stasis for seven cycles, but she had no idea how long she'd been with child. Or if John was the father, though she hoped beyond hope that he was. She doubted any medical facility here had ever seen a Sebacean before. They clearly did not have translator microbes. They would never know how to release the narl. She needed to get back to Moya.
Her stomach growled,"food. First," She gave him a slight smile.
She smiled broadly at the sight of food. The smell made her stomach growl. She stepped into the room and, unsure of what to do, looked for a table. She didn't know if someone brought food to them or if they went and got it. "What food .. here?
She thought about Jack's comment and wondered if it could be different. How she could try. She wasn't sure if John would come to get her, she'd expressly told him not to follow. He wouldn't know if she was in any danger. And honestly, she herself wasn't sure. "I do not ... trapped, well" She gave Jack a humored smile.
She and Adora have really got to work on her english skills.
Aeryn smiled. "thanks" She moved over to the food table and marveled at the sheer amount available. She mentioned, "I have no ... um... currency. It needed?" She had no idea if the coins she had would even be worth anything here.
Aeryn gave him a smirk as she filled her plate. She was not good at being a prisoner. "How long ... for you. here?" She wondered.
The variety of food amazed Aeryn. Even after they had robbed the depository and had all the currency they needed, they still didn't have this much food. She tried a little bit of everything, not too much, but what would amount to a bite or few. Once her plate was full she moved back to the table. There was a glass of water waiting, and she sniffed it automatically, before taking a drink.
"... Are you okay?" he asked. She wasn't familiar to him. Another new arrival?

He glanced over at her.
"Prison might be the wrong word. Nobody here's done anything to deserve this."

"People disappear, but - to my knowledge - nobody's escaped on purpose."

He picked up a couple halves of roast beef sandwich and flipped them open to put some mustard on them.
