Who: Elphaba Thropp and Giselle Where: Music Room When: After Elphie meets Jack in the infirmary What: Two fairy tale people find each other in the music room.
Giselle walked down the hall looking for something to eat. Seems like that's all she ever did here. Walk the halls and eat. She giggled at her joke, and added a little jaunt to her step. She stopped as her ears picked something up. Oh ! Was that music? She smiled, It was! She hurried toward the sound and opened a door she thought it as behind. That was a closet. She hurriedly shut the door, admonishing the hotel. "Oooh! I don't like it when you do that!"
She heard the music again, this time behind her. She smiled, she could see the open door to the room, and quickly moved toward it before the hotel had other ideas. She stood in the doorway of the music room as smiled. She saw a woman at a piano and moved toward her. She hesitated for a moment. Was she ... green? Her eyes widened, could the woman be from a painted world like herself? Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Giselle smiled, "Oh! No." She laughed, "I heard your playing, so I came to see." She tried very hard to not stare, but she'd never seen anyone with skin that color before. But it would be terribly rude of her to say anything. So she carefully looked at the piano to watch how the woman's hands move. "Do you know any Andalasian songs?"
Giselle quirked her brows and asked simply honestly. Because she really didn't know any better. "Were you born that way, or did you eat something that made you green? " Her eyes widened as she had a thought. "Did a witch make you green?" After all there were many witches where she came from, they did all kinda of terrible things to people. One certainly could have made her green.
"I haven't heard an Ozian jig before.' She grinned, "it's quite a happy tune!"
Elphie grew quiet at all the questions. She was Ok answering questions one and two, but question three was more difficult. "I was a witch," she answered honestly. "I was also born green. I was born green before I was a witch."
Giselle tried very hard to hold in her shock, but she failed. "You were a witch? Were you a good witch or a bad witch?" She got a serious look on her face. "My mother-in-law is a bad witch." Giselle nodded, "She tried to kill me with a poisoned apple!" Without realizing it, Giselle took a slight step backwards. "I didn't know anyone could be born green."
Elphie's face fell at the girl's reaction. Her fingers found a lonely melody. She turned back to the piano. "I... guess that all depends on how you define good and bad." And how you handle a crazy person inside your head, she added silently. "I can go if you'd like," she added.
Elphie's fingers stopped at the woman's words and started again, this time with a portion of the Oziad. She sang along because it kept her from having to talk to the woman.
Giselle watched the green woman's fingers as they moved across the piano keys. She hummed along as she didn't know the words. It was really a very pretty melody. Some of the words were repeated in the chorus, so once Giselle figured those out, she sang along, at least with the chorus.
Soon she found herself moving along the floor, enjoying the feel of the music. She sang along as she danced along happily.
Once she saw the woman was happier, Giselle was only happy to comply. She sang a happy song that her mother had taught her at a young age. It was an Andalasian Nursery Rhyme that was a favorite to all ages.
She sang and twirled happily. Truly enjoying herself.
Elphie listened to a stanza or two and then found the necessary melodie and harmonies on the piano. With her voice, she sang a wordless countermelody to the whole thing. Music. It was one of the few things she was honestly good at.
Giselle finished the song and clapped enthusiastically happy. "That was fun! You have a wonderful singing voice." It was then she realized she didn't even know her new friend's name. "Oh! I'm Giselle! What's your name?" It was starting to be clear that while her new friend didn't come from her colorful Land of Fantasy, perhaps she came from a similar one.
"Do you come from a place where people are painted?"
"Thank you," Elphie smiled. She watched the girl amused. "You remind me of a friend back home," she added. "My name is Elphaba... Elphie if you prefer." Elphie. A name that she went by around everyone now. She hadn't realized how much it reminded her of Glinda until now.
"It's nice to meet you Giselle. And no, no one is painted where I'm from, but everything is much more colorful." Or, it was before the Wizard started messing around with it.

"Oh, hello! You play beautifully!"

"Thank you," she replied with a wary smile. "Am I taking up your time in the room?"

She shook her head at the woman't question. "Sorry. I was playing an Ozian jig just now. Haven't heard of Andalasia though."

"Sing an Andalasian tune," she continued. "Please?" she amended as she realized that commanding was probably rude. "I can figure it out on the piano."
