Who: Fox Mulder and The Doctor/Handy
When: Driving through the desert and growing tired, Mulder decides he needs to find a place to crash for the night.
Where: Hotel Lobby
What: Entrance Post
He didn't dare to look over to the digital clock. If he did, he knew he would grow even more tired than he actually was. Fox Mulder had been driving since mid-afternoon, and now the clock was on the verge of striking midnight. Nonetheless, he had been a sufferer of insomnia and lacked a sleeping pattern for most of his life. Sleep deprivation never affected him too badly. It was as if he was immune to it. He'd catch a few hours of sleep every now and then, but if you were to pinpoint this exact moment, he hadn't slept in over twenty-four hours. It was gradually beginning to take its toll.
With Mulder's eyes focused on the road, he made note of his surroundings. He was in the middle of what seemed to be a secluded desert. Sand for miles. There was sheer darkness enveloping him. The only light was that of his car's headlights. He pursed his lips in thought. Should he park on the side of the road and take a nap in his car or keep driving until he reached civilization? After all, the phone call he had received on his office telephone earlier was quite frantic. A classic abduction case. An ex-Area fifty-one employee was missing, and his wife was convinced he was kidnapped by what she referred to as 'extradimensional beings'. He was completely aware that this was an urgent case, and that he'd have to make an arrival as soon as possible. Determined not to fall asleep at the wheel, he made the conscious decision to keep on driving. As he drove even further, he noticed a light up in the distance. As he drove closer, he came to the realization that this mysterious light was a hotel. He smiled sleepily, knowing that checking into a room to crash for the night would be a far better idea than sleeping out in the middle of the desert.

"Hallelujah..." He murmured before parking his car and exiting the vehicle. It didn't take him much longer to enter the hotel and be immediately blessed by the cool air. He dragged himself over to the front desk and tapped his fingers on the glossy wood, promptly requesting a room. After a warm greeting and a messy signing of papers, he was handed a key and informed his room number. After thanking the friendly clerk, he was on his way to his room, and on his way to learning that he should have just pulled over to sleep instead.
