What: Two depressed men drink together.
Mal was in a bad mood. The horseback ride had started out fine. The Doctor seemed like an interesting fellow, and the conversation was very... odd. He thought he and the Doctor fellow would get along quite well actually. However, watching the hotel disappear behind them and showing up in front of him got old. Very old. And it made him angry. But mostly, he felt trapped.
He tried not to let the Doctor see it though. He took care of his horse. Then he wandered around the hotel. Hours later, he found himself in the bar. After ordering whiskey and then stealing the bottle, he went over to the jukebox. After flipping through the music, he settled on tragic operas. Fit is mood very well.
