Who: Daniel and Ardeth Where: The Basement after a breif stop in Daniel's room. When: After their visit to the Library. What: Daniel hopes to find the Stargate he came through.
"Huh..." Danielstepped into the elevator, "Is there anywhere this place doesn't take people from?" A small part of him wondered if this Julian might know of a way to seperate a Goa'uld symbiote with out harming the host.
"I'n not sure which would be worse," He tapped his lips, "Our 'hosts' coming down and gloating in some way, or the silence they seem to prefer." He reached over and pressed the button for the lobby. "At least if they gloated we could discern some motive from it."
"well, there is...that, I suppose." Daniel absently adjusted his glasses and watched as the indicator on the elevator ticked it's way down, "Too bad such a morbidly fascinating place has to be run by mysterious sadists..."
"Good point," Daniel watched as the indicator got to the correct floor and the doors opened. He stepped out, looked around for a moment, and pointed to a door off the side of the lobby. "If I remember right it was this door, but then again, the hotel may have moved it."
Daniel shrugged, "Well, there's only one way to find out for certain." With that he opened the door. Before him was a set of stairs that lead downward, heavy with the smell of dust, "Looks promising so far..." He walked down the stairs and when at the bottom looked back at Ardeth, "I think we have found the basement."
"Good luck more than anything else," Daniel looked around the room, "It was along a far wall, there might even be footprints where the dust is thicker."
He started to walk forward then paused, "It's a large metal circle, shouldn't be too hard to miss if it's still down here..."
Daniel examined the floor. The only things in the dust were coming from where they had just been. "This place keeps getting better and better..." he mumble mostly to himself. There wasn't even ecidence of his own footprints from when he got here.
He walked farther into the room, the suspicion that the gate was gone grew as he went. "I think that good luck isn't on our side any more," he pointed to a large blank wall, "If I remember correctly it was over here..."
"They needed it to bring you here, Doctor Jackson. Now that you are here... they no longer require it. Nothing is in this place without reason." Ardeth glanced around. "Even if that reason is only to confuse us."
Daniel nodded, "It was worth a shot, even if it was a long shot." He shrugged, "Though, if it had been here I don't know if we could have gotten it to work."

He glanced around the dank space as he drew up alongside Jackson. "Where did you see it before?"
