ooc: Dean'll be waiting for you guys!

Dean pushed himself away from his computer and started grabbing up anything he was going to need to check out the box the doctors seemed to be so fond of. The EMF, camera, flashlight, and sawed off shot gun. He was just out the door when the hunter doubled back and picked up a ziplock bag with a screwdriver inside.

He ducked out and started to make his way down to the garage.

"Hello, Garak."

He watched Garak's reaction to the clothes he had found in the attic with Kate and found it amusing. Julian didn't really like the clothes too much himself, but it did give him another set until Garak could make him something much more comfortable and to his tastes. The denim was stiff and he had to wear a belt to keep them from falling off his hips.

He motioned for Garak to lead the way with a small wave of his hand. His friend had been to the garage several times before, but he himself had not.

Julian nodded. "But maybe there will be residual life signs lingering near the ship or some chemicals that might clue us in on what happened to him. When you were down there working with him, what were you helping him with exactly?"

"With the way things seem to go here, don't count on it," Garak said. "Whoever designed this prison doesn't like to give up answers much."

He stepped into the lift and pressed the button for the garage. "He wanted to expand it as a living space. Even though it was dormant, it was still his home. I was helping with that."

Julian followed Garak into the lift and stood with his back to the side wall, resting his arms on the railing behind his back.

"No, the hotel doesn't like to divulge it's secrets at all." Trying to remain positive, Julian focused on Garak's explanation of what he had been doing to help The Doctor in the garage rather than on the futility of the task ahead.

It wouldn't hurt anything to have a look and give the area a good scan. Besides, he had nothing but time on his hands and keeping busy kept his mind active.

"So, he didn't have a room other than his place in the garage?"

"He may have at one point. He didn't by the time I met him. When he needed to use the network, I let him use my computer," he said. The lift dinged and the doors slid open. Garak stepped out into the garage, used to its size by now, and waited for Bashir to follow.

"That was nice of you, to let someone use your computer. What caused you to feel you could trust him so quickly?" The Garak he knew back on Deep Space 9 would never have trusted anyone with his computer, himself included.

When Julian stepped out of the lift and into the garage, his mouth formed a perfect 'O' and his eyes became huge as he gazed out at the massive expanse that was the garage.

"Garak! Wow! This place is huge!

"It's not as though there's anything private for me to keep on that primitive computer," Garak said with a shrug. "I saw no harm in it. I didn't give him free reign to rummage through my room."

He nodded, giving Bashir time to get used to the size and scope of the place before heading toward where he last saw the TARDIS and its companion boxes.

Dean stepped out from behind the TARDIS, shotgun in one hand, hanging at his side and the EMF reader in the other. The device was silent his hands. He stood there for a moment, staring at the new arrivals. It was the Cardassian tailor he had just been talking to and the Starfleet Doctor.

"Oh." He said, a bit baffled but really not that surprised. "Hi."

Julian's hand went to his phaser as he heard movement. Drawing it, he relaxed when he realized it was Dean. He raised an eyebrow and holstered the phaser, noticing the device in his hand. "Hello, Dean. Taking some readings?"

Garak inclined his head to Dean and then moved to stand out of the way. He had already gone over the area thoroughly visually. Not having a diagnostic tool of his own, there wasn't much else he could do.

Dean held up the mostly worthless EMF reader. "Yeah. Jack-squat on my end of things." He dropped the device into his pocket and jerked a chin at Julian's phaser. "That one of those fancy ray guns like the one Dukat's got?" He asked, unshouldering a duffel and pulling out a camera.

"Yes, it's similar. It's my Starfleet issue phaser." He flipped open his tricorder to read the data he'd been recording since leaving his suite. Set to scan passively, the tricorder had been taking readings while in its holster on his hip.

"I've got nothing so far ..." He walked over to Garak and inclined his head to the large boxes.

"So is it true the Doctor used something here for travel? Are these space ships?"

Julian had not had the opportunity to meet the Doctor in person and regretted the fact. From what he had read on the network, the man seemed very interesting.

Rose took a deep breath before stepping out of the lift, walking so softly her boots barely made a sound on the concrete floor. She felt as if someone had to be playing a trick on her, and if they heard her coming, they might run away and she would never know the truth. But at the sight of the group of people standing around the empty TARDIS, there wasn't any doubt in her mind.

"It's called a TARDIS," she said once she was within earshot of them. "Time and Relative Dimension in Space." She cleared her throat nervously and glanced at each of the three men. "I'm sorry if I'm... intruding. I saw the message on the Network and I had to come see for myself."

Garak had opened his mouth to answer Bashir when an answer came from behind them. He turned to see the approaching woman and shook his head. "It's no intrusion," he said. "The garage is public space, after all. I take it you knew the Doctor?"

Dean had seen Rose before and suspected for the longest time since their occasional passing in the company of Jack Harkness's people that she was probably from their dimension. Though he hadn't seem much of the blond woman since her altercation with Gwen in the bar several months ago.

"You're not bothering me." Dean said. He sacked the shot gun in the duffel bag and went about with his camera, snapping off pictures of the scattered debris that had been left behind. "I guess whatever was tied down got the chance to stay. If he had any personal stuff...it was probably junked in the attic." He muttered. He paused in taking pictures to glance over at Julian's tricorder. "I thought that thing only scanned bodies and did medical stuff." He said. "What good is it here?"

Julian smiled when he saw Rose, remembering his first day at the hotel when Rose and Jack had walked him to his room in his dripping wet tuxedo.

"Rose. Hello. We can definitely use your help." He turned to Dean and watched as he used the ancient device to take photographs of the scene.

"Tricorders vary. The medical tricorder is more specialized for medicine, but it performs the same functions as a standard tricorder. It's used in everything from scanning a planetary core from the surface to checking a room for listening devices."

Crouching down, Julian began to scan the same debris Dean had just taken photos of.

"They are used in every ship, space station, and building in Starfleet territory. They can determine how people have moved in an enclosed location by analysing molecular displacement traces many hours afterwards, or even detect the thermal traces left by a person sitting down hours before and estimate the species from this detail. I'm hoping I can find some trace of what might have happened to The Doctor."
