"Not well," Jack confessed. "We still don't have enough players." He looked at Janeway over the rim of his mug. "Of course, you could be part of that solution, instead of part of the problem," he reminded her with a smile.
"He sure did," Jack replied. "That's the can-do Starfleet spirit I expected to see set forth by the senior officers as well!" he added with a pointed look.
"I intend to be there to watch." Janeway commented. "And while I have no problem attending Betazoid weddings as skyclad as the next obligated guest...a voluntary sporting event for the amusement of just doing it falls under personal choice." She smiled a bit wickedly. "Best to let the younger and better looking fill your ranks anyway."
"Ianto said no," Jack admitted. "And believe me, I used the full strength of my considerble charm to try and persuade him. He's very stubborn. And really not into exhibitionism... I would say probably about 95% of the time."
"That maybe were the hope comes from!" The admiral grinned and took a deeper drink from her coffee. She sighed a little and looked around the room. "I don't know how Julian's going to react when he comes back." She said, somewhat seriously. "I am responsible for all this, so you shouldn't get in trouble if he is cross."
"If he's cross?" Jack repeated, amused. "He weighs, like, ninety pounds. When he comes back, I don't think there's going to be any 'trouble'," he promised with a grin.
Janeway shook her head at Jack with a slight smile. "He is very quick and has a long reach, Captain. If he wants to put up a fight, he can certainly hold his own. I know from experience." She said, pointedly not looking at the other end table that was missing a lamp.
"You want to talk about a long reach?" Jack challenged with a mischievious look in his eye. "Try dating a Klingon." He leaned back in his chair and sipped leisurely at his coffee. "Anyway, Julian adores me."
