After getting Dean's PM, Kaylee decked herself out in her scavanging best. Coveralls, heavy boots, thick leather gloves in her back pocket and her hair tied back off her face. Practically skipping down to the garage, she realized she was more excited about sifting through the wreakage, than she had been about anything in quite some time.

"MARCO!" she called when she didn't see Dean anywhere between the cars.

Dean looked up from where he sat in the passenger seat, the guts of the radio system scattered between him and the dashboard. He was in the middle of detaching the cables from the car (hopefully saving the wires) when he heard Kaylee's voice.

"POLO!" Dean called back, pulling a small screwdriver from between his teeth where he had been holding it.

"Pontiac with the flat tires, Kaylee." The hunter informed as he reached into the open maw of the dash and found the mating connections. With a couple of quick pulls, they came apart and the radio was free.

Garak emerged from the lift with an armful of folded cloth samples he intended to present to the Doctor for his TARDIS project and a few sketches he had worked up just in time to hear a bellowed, "POLO!" from a voice that didn't sound familiar. He proceeded cautiously until he could get a better idea of what he had walked in on, seeing only a woman from behind and part of a man extending from the cab of one of the ruined vehicles.

"Excuse me," he called pleasantly, in part to announce himself and in part to get a better look at the two, "but have either of you seen the Doctor?"

The Doctor read the final page of his book, sighed contentedly and closed it. Selecting a jelly baby, he popped it into his mouth, closed his eyes and pushed the paper bag back into the pocket of his jacket.

Stretched out comfortably on a newly borrowed sun lounger, he listened idly to voices echoing towards him from somewhere over the other side of the garage, although the way sounds got distorted he wasn't completely convinced. He'd noticed some burned cars on one of his return trips, but no clue as to what had caused the damage.

Whatever had happened, hadn't come close enough to his TARDIS or the makeshift tented extension, that conveniently blocked his view of the garage- and even more conveniently- anyone's view of him!

(ooc: oops! Forgot who I was logged in under!) Dean looked up at the sound of a completely different voice, this one male and one he had never heard before. The hunter didn't know much about Kaylee's social circles, so maybe he figured the cute mechanic to have brought along a friend. All as well, since there was quite a lot of wreckage to sift through. He figured it was going to take them a few days to reduce the damaged cars to parts and scrapes ( ... )

Kaylee was following the sound of Dean's voice and was just about to say hello when another unfamiliar voice sounded behind her. Seeing the look on Dean's face she quickly went around the back of the Pontiac so she was on the same side as the hunter before looking to see who was behind her. A girl only had to be used as a human shield so many times before she started learning to get out of dodge first and asking questions later.

"You lookin' for the Doctor that lives down here?" she asked matching the newcomers pleasant tone. She hoped that was the doctor he was looking for and not the doctor who shall not be named.

Eyes closed, he slowly sucked the jelly baby and began to try and follow the conversation that seemed to be going on, despite the garage acoustics mangling the actual words, he suddenly realised that two of the voices were familiar.

Sitting up with a grin on his face, he opened his eyes, dumped the rapidly sliding book safely onto the lounger, got to his feet and pushed aside the sheet. Going around to the other side of the TARDIS, his grin widened.

"Garak!" He announced, rapidly moving between the cars towards him, at the same time looking to see who the third voice had belonged to, whoever he was, the Doctor got the distinct impression he was wary of the Cardassian for some reason.

"Hello, Kaylee," he said, giving her a brief wave.

(OOC: ROFL thought Dean had gone in for something rather interesting for a moment there :D )

Garak saw the alarm on the man's face and found himself wondering if it was because he had never seen a Cardassian before or if it was because he had, as though he needed an excuse to think uncharitable thoughts about Dukat. When the woman darted to put something between him and herself, his suspicions began to lean heavily toward the latter. He had just opened his mouth to answer them when the man in question strode into view. Hopefully, that would be a good tension buster. He had both hands full and his disruptor hidden safely against his back. He didn't need this sort of stress!

"I was seeking this very one," he said to the other two before offering a genuine smile to the Doctor. "Hello, Doctor. It's good to see you again. I've brought you some materials to look at and a few sketches for the project. I also wanted to talk curtains."

Kaylee had sense in her head to get the hell out of the way of a potentially dangerous situation, Dean gave her that. He felt better she was now clear of the line of sight.

He was waiting for an answer when a new voice turned up and a guy he hadn't yet seen before walked over from the general direction of the phone booth like boxes from across the garage.

Dean glanced at Kaylee as they were ignored in the introductions and lifted his eyebrows in surprise. He wasn't sure if this Cardassian was a threat or not...

At the mention of curtains, the hunter started to wonder if it was possible for aliens to be maybe even gay...

"Nihao, Doctor," she greeted in return, before falling silent to taken in the exchange in front of her.

Sensing his gaze, Kaylee glanced up at Dean sharing a significant look. She didn't know what to make out of this any more than he did.

The Doctor obviously was friendly with the newcomer he had addressed as Garak, so that meant... well, something. Because hile she didn't know the Doctor overly well, she knew that Jack did, and she also knew that Jack trusted him, and she trusted Jack so, she didn't know exactly where that left her.

"Oh, fantastic!" The Doctor beamed at Garak, then sighed and shook his head, "Afraid the curtain front didn't work out so well- unless you've had more luck than I have. Are those the sketches you mentioned?" He asked, then glanced back towards Kaylee.

"Who's your friend?" He enquired, giving Dean a wary look. The man looked as if he would probably shoot first and ask questions later (or would have, if he'd not had his hands full of other things).

"Well, yes and no," Garak said. "I know where to get some. I just don't like the method suggested to me for it. I don't suppose you're any good at picking locks?" He was, but there was no way he intended to make that common knowledge to anyone at that hotel. "Oh, yes, several sketches in different styles." He rifled through the pile in his arms and offered over a neat stack of papers.

When the Doctor turned his attention to the other two, Garak did as well, observing them from the relative concealment of behind the man's broad back. Something definitely had them froggy. He wondered if it had to do with the destroyed cars, and if so, what they knew of all of that.

Dean turned his attention back to their present company and after a moment of consideration, pocketed his tools and came around the end of the car to join then. He didn't want to be so far away from his gun in the toolbox, but now he had to do damage control on his own behalf.

"Dean Winchester." The hunter offered the Doctor his hand for a shake and then, without skipping a beat, made to offer it to Garak even though his hands were full. "Came down to clean up the mess and save what we could for parts." He gestured with the radio core in one hand. "They're no good anymore to the people who owned them...and it doesn't look like their owners are still here to care."

"Kaylee Frye, resident mechanic," Kaylee introduced herself to Garak as well, with her patent sunshiny smile. "Hence my participation in our little salavage mission. It would be a cryin' shame to let all these perfectly acceptable parts go to waste just because of a little firefight."

"So ya'll are makin'... curtains?" she asked addressing the Doctor as well as she pulled the leather gloves out of her back pocket before perching herself on the hood of the Pontiac.

The Doctor thanked Garak for the drawings, tipping his head slightly as he flipped through them. "These are very good." Sighing, he grimaced slightly. "I did used to have a way to get through any locked door- well pretty much. Unfortunately I lent it to someone and I've not managed to get it back yet."

"Nice to meet you Dean," he said, pumping his hand with probably more enthusiasm than he should. "Recycling's good." He smiled, then nodded at the Cardassian, deliberately ignoring the fact that Dean seemed noticeably hostile towards the tailor.

"Yes, it would," he replied, smiling quietly down at Kaylee. "Done it myself, more than once- reused bits from one thing to fix another." His smile suddenly faded to puzzled. "Curtains? Oh, no, well, more of a tent really. Trying to extent the TARDIS a bit and Garak kindly offered to help. Didn't you?" Turning slightly, he smiled at him.

"I'm glad you like them," Garak said, pleased. "They're preliminary, of course. Make any changes you like, or scrap the lot, and we'll start again. Any chance we might enlist whoever has it? There are empty rooms full of curtains waiting to be exploited for a good cause."

When the man thrust his hand toward Garak, he shifted his bundle so he could stick a hand out from under it and gave a buisness-like shake. He then inclined his head toward the woman who was farther away. "Dean Winchester and Kaylee Frye," he said with a pleasant smile, as it was polite to confirm pronunciation. "I'm Garak, resident tailor, and I'm with you about the parts. It's a shame to leave anything to waste."

He continued smiling, this time back at the Doctor. "Well, I could hardly resist! A large project in a small place does wonders for morale. Idleness and I have never been friends."
