Who: Brennan and OPEN
Where: On her way to the attic
When: Late morning
What: Rumor has it that sometimes things belonging to people who've disappeared from the hotel end up in the attic. Brennan's going to find out for herself.
Booth had been gone for a while now and Brennan had been managing on her own. Sure she missed him, but what other choice did she have than to survive? She was mostly keeping to herself and trying to stay sane by reading and exercising a lot. She was back to researching unexplained phenomena but found herself no closer to understanding this place or how she might get herself out. Surprisingly she did find herself being fascinated by the parascience presented in some of the text. It was nothing she would have ever picked up or given any credence to before being sent to this place, but it was hard to be in the middle of something so confounded and not see that there may be forces at work beyond her current understanding. Brennan was smart enough to know when she did not have all the answers.
One thing that had been nagging at her for quite some time, was something that Jack had said about his experience with the attic here. He had mentioned that it seemed to be filled with items from former residents and that when people disappeared some of their things might have ended up there. She had tried to put it out of her head. After all, what good would finding any of Booth's things do? None of them were going to help her figure this place out or bring him back. But no matter how irrational it was, the idea kept poking at her. She could not deny that she liked the idea of having something that belonged to him, even if the only value was sentimental. Objects have no intrinsic power. Just another thing he had proved she was wrong about.
And that's how she now found herself walking through the deserted corridors of the hotel, trying to find her way into the attic. She had taken the elevator to the top level, and figured there must be a door or ceiling panel there that led to the attic floor, but so far she had only found more hotel rooms.
