Dawn was having a marvelous first day in the hotel. She slept in since there was no one to get her up for school, she wandered down to the banquet hall and had chocolate chip pancakes smothered in whip cream and more chocolate chips since and a side of chocolate milk for breakfast, after a bit more exploring she wandered back up to her room where she was currently jumping on her unmade bed singing along with the Backstreet Boys at the top of her lungs ( ... )

Although it did not show on her face, Pam was geninuely surprised to see someone so young open the door, although the horrific music choice now made more sense. She had found that determmining human became more difficult as she aged, but if this creature had showed up at Fangtasia trying to get in, she would have turned her away without even a glance at a fake ID. She was hardly more than a child. And she had yet to see one of those in the hotel yet.

"If you don't turn off that painful excuse for music," Pam threatened as the boy band continued to harmonize in the background, "I will take that CD and shove it down your pretty little throat."

Dawn was less then impressed. "Ew, anger management issues much?" the teen replied, one eyebrow raised. "And why should I do what you say?"

"Because I've been eating little girls like you for breakfast for centuries," Pam replied evenly, her eyes narrowed. It was mainly a lie. She enjoyed women for her nightly feed and fuck, not children, but this young human didn't need to know that.

A vampire. Of course. She would end up trapped in a hotel in an alternate dimension that had vampires. Whatever she still wasn't scared, but she also wasn't stupid and stepped out of arms reach from the door way for two reasons, she wasn't sure if the whole invite thing worked in hotel rooms, and she wanted to be closer to the sun streaming through her open windows, just in case.

"Ohhh a vampire I'm soooo scared," Dawn deadpanned. "Yeah not really."

Pam found it curious that the small human knew what she was so quickly. Perhaps she was from the same version of the universe as she was. She also noticed that the girl knew enough to move out of easy snatching distance and towards the sun, which she assumed meant that the girl didn't know that was human inside the hotel. So while she didn't have enough sense to be scared, she wasn't a complete idiot either.

"You know I am Vampire." It was a statement not a question. "Then you should also know that what the AVL says is not true, and most Vampire's do not live on True Blood."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Dawn replied simply, going to turn down the music, not because the well dressed vampire ordered her to, but because it was so loud she could barely hear her.

"I've never heard of the AVL or True Blood. I knew you were a vampire because I'm from Sunnydale, you know... the hellmouth," she said when she didn't see a look of instant recognition when she mentioned the name of her town. "Whatever, you're not the first vamp to tell me that you eat little girls like me for breakfast" she mimicked in a British accent that sounded suspiciously like Spike.

"I mean I guess you could've been some kind of demon," Dawn continued. "Vengance demons look pretty human until they go all veiny and gross, but according to Anya they don't usually eat people. I guess there are other demons that like to munch on people, but vampires are the most common so I figured it was a safe bet."

"You know quite a lot about the supernatural world," Pam observed curiously as she stepped into the girl's hotel room, thankful that awful music was off. "And yet you are not afraid. You are either very brave or very stupid."

Pam wondered absently if perhaps this girl belonged to the other group that her master had told her about that including another vampire and something they called a slayer, but then she decided she didn't really care enough to ask.

Dawn felt some of her self confidence in the situation drop when the woman stepped into her room without an invitation, knowing her first line of defense was definitely out.

"Lady," she said, with a bit more bravdo then she was really feeling, but still feeling safe since she was now standing directly in front of her open curtains, "vamps just aren't that scary. I mean killed by a splinter? Come on. My sister kills a bunch of you like every night."

Pam feigned looking around the room curiously. "I do not see this sister of yours here now," she said casually stepping right up to the edge of the sunshine patch on the floor.

"Well I'm in the sun, so you can't come any closer without going up like... something else thats equally flamable," Dawn countered, really starting to get nervous, but doing her best not to show it. See this is usually the point where someone came to rescue her when she taunted the dangerous vampire who was looking at her like she was lunch.

"See now, I did not think about that," Pam replied tapping her chin thoughtfully with one perfectly French-manicured finger. "I suppose I will have to wait here for the sun to go down. Or," she quickly stepped into full sun, invading the girl's personal space, "I could just come in after you."

"So how about we agree that you keep the ear bleeding boy band whining out of my ear shot and I don't kill you right now," Pam threatened emptily, since she really had no intention of ever harming the child. "Because blood would be very hard to get out of a yellow this pale. And I like this skirt far too much throw it away, don't you think?" she asked with a smile.

Dawn's eyes went wide when the Vampiress stepped into her circle of sun, what the h-e-double hockey sticks kind of vamp is she! she couldn't help but exclaim internally.

"Yeah, alright," she agreed, not really having any kind of leverage any more to argue. She looked the other girl up and down once more taking in the outfit that was apparently saving her life. "I really like your shoes," she complemented geniunely if not a bit meekly.

A genuine smile, and not even her scary one, passed over Pam's face. "Thank you, young human. They're from Valentino's most recent line," she explained looking down at her stiletto clad feet. "He did a lot with bows last season. I have a similar pair in patent leather."

"Cool," she said impressed by the designer footwear. "I'm Dawn. I just got here yesterday."

"I am Pam," she introduced herself in turn. "I assumed you must have been a recent arrival since you did already know that anyone who is supernatural in any way became wholly human once they entered the hotel," she revealed off handedly.
