From my twitter @laplej:
{We were pulled over by police for not having the lights on... Srsly. :/ out of all the things... And they dropped f bomb. Haha and I saw a video of one of my professors giving a talk on diversity at jobing.com small world small world. And I hate when in the morning my computer freezes only when I check my email. And to think I could gotten te exact comp I wanted last fri-- For under my budget of $500 but they sold out by monday. My dad said wait. I knew I shouldn't have. I coulda put at least a hundred down. :( It had wireless n built in. Quad core. Windows 7 free by the time it released. 8GB ram. 750GB of space I do not need. PHANTOM I. The closest thing was at walmart and was over 600 bucks when it came down to shipping. I said forget it. Keep waiting keep waiting. Lesson learned: " a fall into a ditch, a gain in your wit".}
Indeed very true, very true my friends. Yesterday I was nervous when the cops pulled us over, but was not as nervous as I imagined my dad to be when he stepped out of the car. I told him not to, but he did. And the cop who later said she/he was intimidated said, “Get into the FJUKING car.” My poor dad has not been pulled over for maybe 20 years. How dare that cop drop the f bomb. I was still insulted, but I did not say anything since I did not want us to be written up. We explained we were on our way from school. She/he was like, “What kind of school lets out at 10 o’clock at night?” I explained I am in college, and we had a long ride home since we come from the south side of Phoenix. Long story short, we were not written up thank goodness, but my dad needs to get his registration and insurance straight apparently, since all he found was expired cards (who keep expired cards anyways?)
And when I get home to check my email finally after my dad drops me off--he picks me up Tuesdays since I get out so late, I check one from jobing that has several videos of one of my professors. I was shocked, since there are so many folks I know in the higher ups at jobing, and other places, but I cannot get a job for the likes of me. Besides I do not really like getting a job based on knowing someone either. I like to do things the hard and righteous way. No clue why. I have some friends that do it all the time.
And the last thing, yes I missed out on a sweet deal. I was pissed off about it too. But that was pretty much explained for itself in the tweets so … yeah.
Furthermore, the Chinese proverb I found on Bing: “A fall into a ditch, a gain in your wit.” (Chinese original: 吃一堑,长一智; Chinese Pinyin: Chī yī qiàn zhǎng yī zhì.). It means that people learn from their mistakes. So yeah, I will keep that deep in mind.
P.S. Another thing I barely noticed, there are more fonts availaible on Microsoft Office Word 07, when running on the Vista Home Premium opperating system than on the Windows Media Center operating system. I know how very nerdy of me. But still what a rip off! I like the font style Euphemia (okay I know extreme nerd).
