people on food stamps buying soda (because they should be forced to drink only milk and water if the taxpayers are funding their groceries)
My mom does that too! Even though we probably bought a case of soda every day when we were on food stamps. Oh, and let's not forget that the government checks she gets for my brother were what paid for me to get a private dorm room during my freshman year at one of the most expensive universities in Colorado. But our family never uses government hand-outs for non-necessities, oh no.
My mom also actually applauded when Florida instated that horrible "Drug testing for welfare recipients," law, even though that same law, if enacted just a few years earlier in Colorado, would have cost us our welfare. But it's ~different~ for our family. Even though the last time it was ~different~ for our family it took us two years and a lawyer to get it corrected. And surely poor people in Florida who might have reasons every bit as valid as (or identical to--hey! Go figure! Some people in Florida have disabilities, just like some people in Colorado.) ours for failing that test can afford to just go without government aid for two years while the whole thing gets worked out in court.
It makes me worry I'll be a libertarian by 40. o.o
