entry twenty nine: the revolution script is a lie

Gods, even when alternate versions of you attempt due methods of control, you can't do it properly. At all.

As much as I hate to admit it, that delusional version of myself's last post was... right. I am better than that. Part of me thinks I ought to show you all my watch house just to show you what I think you're worse than.

I'd also like it ( Read more... )

me and my colleagues were not pleasant, concern for the policing establishment, secret policemen are good survivors, assassin at heart, swing has strange ocd moments, pissing and moaning

I'm alright, Sirrus, really. You alright?

I suppose. I did not die and I was not hurt.

Thanks in no small part to you. Or...him.

I would have done the same if it were me. But if it were me, I would have not gotten involved in such a ridiculous and chaotic attempt at insurrection.

Chaotic, yes. Ridiculous? Maybe not.

Chaos is always ridiculous, and bound to end in bloodshed.

Sometimes bloodshed is necessary.

Yes, Sirrus, but not in support of insurrection.

But that regime...the wardens. Surely there were extenuating circumstances to consider.

...you mean their incompetence? They're incompetent here too. Neither lot could, or can, keep order, but creating more chaos was not going to fix anything.

Incompetence is no fault of theirs as individuals, but rather their inability or choices not to work together as well as they could.

Certainly true, I'm not denying that. For both Barges. But it is no excuse to take up arms against them and merely spread the chaos further.

No. It was not good to do it in that way.

I cannot quite comprehend how the other version of me was so sold on it.

Although, actually, knowing John Keel, I can see how. Which is a little disturbing, as a thought.

Who is John Keel?

A police sergeant from Pseudopolis. He thought he could tell me, us, how to run our city.

He had the right intentions, and did very well for a man who had the eyes of a brutal mass murderer, but he didn't understand the situation.

And, turned out to be a murderer. He's the man who killed me.
