entry forty three: police based epiphanies.

Let me make something perfectly clear, because at least one of you hasn't got the message here. I have accepted that what I did to Iago was wrong, and I apologised for it. I made it clear I wanted nothing else to do with anyone involved beyond the necessary. So those of you who insist on ranting and raving at me and telling me things I already know; you can leave it. Just leave it. It's entirely unnecessary. I was shot in the damn head, I was contrite, what else do you want from me?

Anyone interested in playing Risk? damn, I wish Sirrus was here.

[Filtered to all the policemen-on-the-barge. Howie's absence is excused by his-week-from-hell, so it's... Hartigan, Costigan, Sam Tyler and anyone who I can't remember that fits in here.]

I was thinking, gentlemen.

I realised my policing methods, whilst efficient and, in the pressures of the situation, seemed necessary enough, weren't. The problem I've come to is that I don't know how else to enforce the law, or to keep order. I don't understand how you can do it without your cities falling into ruin and chaos. This place is a good enough example of that.

I'd like to see how you do, or how you would. Even if it's, I don't know, the next time one of you looks into something that happens, I'd like to see how you get answers. I can do the putting-things-togther thing by myself, but I don't understand how you either keep order or get answers without a significant amount of fear and intimidation to back you up.

I also hope it's fairly obvious that if you let me in on something, nobody else will get to know, as my interest is in order; and I will not take action. I just wish to know and observe, if nothing else.

me and my colleagues were not pleasant, there's insincere and then there's swing, criminology discworld style
