A little peace...and quiet?

Mar 29, 2007 13:30

It's my free period. The singular amount of time I have to myself all day. 45 minutes of uninterrupted work and quiet. Except kids keep banging on my door or putting their faces against my window or coming in to say stupid things to me. Don't get me wrong...usually I really enjoy them coming in and asking me 14 times a day whether or not I am going to be at softball practice. But today I have a headache and I want it to be vacation. I clearly have my iPod headphones in and am listening to music (the new Bright Eyes-so good). You would think that would urge students to, you know, let me listen to my music. Nope. It just makes them want to ask me why I am listening to an iPod. Oh, well, you know. So you can talk to me about it. No, definitely not to listen to music. Teachers hate music.

Sorry, didn't mean to rant there. I just needed to whine for a minute.

So, anyway...things are good here in Western Mass. Teaching (aside from days like today when the kids just won't leave me alone) is good. I'm all signed up to come back next year. I'm pretty sure I'm teaching during the summer program as well.
If anyone in Boston wants to see me once school gets out, I'm coming to the city June 16th to see Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Tour. It was real expensive but totally worth it for the sheer homosexuality. Margaret Cho, Cyndi, Debbie Harry, Rufus Wainwright, the Gossip, etc. Gaaaaaaaaaaay.
In other news, I'm heading to Sevilla next Thursday to see my sister. Totally excited.
Oh and I'm happier than I've ever been.
And the new Bright Eyes record came in the mail yesterday.
And I'm going to my Gram and Gramp's for meatloaf tonight. Mmmm.
Pretty much I should quit whining because today is a good day.
