For the past year and a half we've been living on top of a mountain. Literally. At a rather high elevation, life takes on a hermitage quality - no desire to leave the mountain is truly present. And, it's not like it's a quick and easy thing to do anyway. Two thousand vertical feet in three miles of switchbacks makes for a stunningly beautiful drive that also happens to be slow and careful. And there there are the clouds....
But, move we must and I have to say, if a lease is not signed soon, something in me might actually break. Unable to find the right place on our own, uninterested in continuing on a roommate relationship, it has been rather frustrating. But now there is a hope, a little tiny place where we could land and reintegrate into life at a lower elevation (higher than most all of you reading this, probably, but lower for me) and so, today, there is hope.
In doing this, there's a call to remember the little adventures - being willing to swim out in to the deep of change and say "yes, I'll do this for a minute" and just go for it. The more variety you can include in life the slower time goes. Scheduled life flies by and suddenly, years are gone. So, in that way, this is good.
