Setting: Christmas Eve at my parent's house.
Background: My parents don't drink. As in- maybe two sips total to be taken out of my glass. (mom) The most that's been consumed in my lifetime probably totals to one beer a year. (dad)
Current: There was only light eggnog which I decided I would have a cup of. I found it a bit lacking, and wondered if there was ANY liquor in the house. Mind you, it would have been sitting untouched on a shelf for thirty years, but I was fine with that. All that could be found was peach schnapps, which I tried to turn down.
My father, however, persisted. He proceeded to create what he was calling a "fuzzy nog." I'm drinking it right now.
Lesson of the day: Mixing eggnog, peach schnapps and cinnamon combine to create a flavor that can only be described as "cinnamon toast." Weird, but good. If you came from the absurdist environment that is my family, you might be tempted to go so far as to say that eggnog + peach schnapps = toast. That's right. Toast.
