speaking of clothes

My delemma as of late has been... age appropriate clothes... can you tell i've been watching TLC's what not to wear. I really need to take the time and go thru my entire closet. Things that I shouldn't be wearing (like mini-skirts) need to go to goodwill. I'm at that really weird stage where I want to be fashionable but fasionable for my age... which means some (ok, alot) of my closet needs to go. That includes shoes... I was going to wear this one pair of shoes this am and when I put them on I felt like godzilla... who the heck am I trying to be??? Some 20 year old chicky... well, i'm not 20 years old anymore... far from it.... like twice that... so I went for the classic heel... and it looked much better. I did pick up 3 pairs of basic dress pants... in navy tweed with a very faint red pinstripe, dark grey with very light neutral pinstripes and a real nice heather brown pair. I should be able to mix and match alot with those colors... and I have a nice black pair at home that I still fit in so that should last me for awhile. Need to hem them thou... the trouble with being short. The nice thing thou, they have cuffs, and I am short enough that I can whack the cuffs off and do a classic straight leg with the hem. (which I like better for me... since I am short) I guess I have that fear of looking dumpy, frumpy, or teeny bopper... it's that damn fine line... I like the skirts a little longer... to the knee or just barely above it... skirts that are shorter unless a girl is in her teens or twenties just looks wrong and a bit sleezy to me... I think i'm getting old.... where did the time go???
