Wow yeah, I don't update anymore. So I will. Even though I'm supposed to be done my stats HW by 2 so me and Julie can get our Eick/Gossip Girl on before class at 4. Oh wellllll.
Sophmore year = LOVE. Take freshman year, multiply it by 100000 and add 100000 awesome points and you have my sophmore year. My suitemates and their crowd are fun. Lisas also obsessed with David Cook so we constantly have his songs playing because we're nerds like that. And Decker 6 is so peaceful and I love it. No techno music (or Hide and Seek) vibrating through the walls at random times of the day/night accompanied by "IM GOING TO GET WASTED/FUCKING KILL YOU/DRINK A PROTEIN SHAKE/ALL OF THE ABOVE". hahahahaha. So that change is definately welcome (although I do miss the hilarity JUST a little xD).
Classes are OK so far. I have French103 (LAST SEMESTER of french), Statistics, Media Law, and News Editing and Production. French is better than last semester so far but we'll see what happens with the first test haha. Stats SUCKS. Like the material is easy but the teacher is so so so so so so terrible I feel like shooting myself in the head Tuesdays and Fridays 4-520 (or should I say 350-520 because she starts teaching 10 minutes early -_-) ... when we get to a chapter we can't teach ourselves we're screwed. Media Law is AWESOME. Its all about the First Amendment and free speech and our professor just tells us the craziest stories ... every time I walk out of that class I'm angry because the law/world can be so screwed up sometimes haha but its in a good way just because the stuff we talk about is so intense. Seriously, look up Fred Phelps when you get a chance. AWFUL. News Editing and Production is also a good class...our professor is also editor of the Wall Street Journal so thats really cool. And of course the first class she holds up a Signal article that I wrote for the first issue.... about how it was a good idea to stop giving out free WSJs to students. Oops. Hahahaha. But yeah alot of it is grammar and boring stuff but people tell me that we're going to start learning about layout and, well, production lol so I'm pretty excited for that.
Speaking of Signal. That is going well too. My actual section (Nation and World) is dull but I get layout/copy editing experience so its good. It's not a hard job except for the fact my computer is ancient and CRASHED LAST NIGHT. AFTER MYLES GAVE ME THE FINAL APPROVAL AND I WAS ABOUT TO BE DONE. So I ended up staying an extra hour. Ugh. I guess shitty equipment is what we get for being self funded AKA get to publish whatever the hell we want. But yeah I'm also in charge of the "Cop Shop" section ... its basically a weekly column reporting the crime that happened on campus the past couple days. So I go to the police station every Friday and get info. And apparently its the only section people actually read hahaha ... all these award winning student journalists on staff and all anyone cares about is the half assed copied reports. Alot of my conversations go like "oh what do you do on Signal?" "Nation and World" ":glazed over look:" "and cop shop" "OMG D:LSFJDS: :worship:" hahahaha. I'm also reviewing concerts for A&E ... this Friday I'm covering Matt Nathanson who apparently is kind of a big deal. So yeah busy Signal life.
Phi Sig is also going well. I enjoy it a lot more now that we aren't together every. single. second. of. every. single. day. Haha. Everyones cool. So far we've had two mixers and they were very fun. Recruitment starts this Thursday so we'll see how that goes. Actually seeing pledge season from the other side ... weird.
:deep breath: I think thats it. My friends are awesome. TCNJ is awesome. I just miss my sister who is in Miami right now for a year =( ok better get on this homework peace
