Sakura-Con YGO cosplay and... zombies?

Hey everyone, this post is going to be directed mostly at YGO fans who live in the Pacific Northwest area of the USA, but! I'm sure YGO fans of any persuasion can find humor in what I'm trying to do.

I want to do Thriller, with YuGiOh characters.

Oh God, I have friends who go to this con DX but I don't! I cosplay Yuugi, this would have been so fun to do!

Bummerrr! I'm still looking for a Yugi too! I may have found one but it's not a for sure thing. :/

What cons do you go to, out of curiosity? ;D I don't really go to other anime cons anymore and am limited in travel this year but I am considering going to Fanime.

I'll definitely post videos!

I usually go to more of the North East coast cons, AnimeBoston, Otakon etc.

Those are the most recent pictures, but I don't have many professional ones from Otakon XD And I'm poor, so I'm still working on his school uniform jacket.

Oooh I've seen your costume online before! Nice job. :D

I'm a cheater, and I'm not making Yugi's school uniform jacket. Instead I found an awesome 80's blue leather jacket at a thrift store and am just going to attach a buckle to the cuff. (picture!)

It may not be completely accurate, but it works for me. It matches my Thriller idea anyway because with the incredible 80's shoulder pads it does look a bit like a blue version of MJ's outfit, hahaha! And I'm going as zombified Dark Yugi anyway so no matter what I'm doing an alternate version of his outfit so I feel I have an excuse to bend the look a bit. Everything else will be pretty accurate though. :) I'm hoping that's how I'll get away with the jacket!

and that jacket is perfect, i was about to say that it did sort of look like the jacket from his video..

Zombie Yami, make sure to take some pictures!

Thrift stores are the BEST PLACE for cosplay supplies. I've found pretty much all the basics I need for most of my current costumes there. Then fabric and craft stores pick up the rest of the slack. :D

For example I've found Yami's boots, tank top, jacket, and belts at the thrift store. I've found leather pants at the thrift store before too but they never fit well so I had to go get those elsewhere... still got them at a discount store though, and on sale! lol. Even the duel disk I bought was on sale. :V Jeez, I just realized I really haven't paid full price for any of his stuff. BARGAIN COSPLAY WHOO!
