Itty-Bitty Millennium Ring

So I'm doing a Duelist Kingdom Ryou Bakura cosplay, right? And I'm getting the sweater and modifying it, and buying a green collared shirt. And light jeans and sneakers. As for the wig, I'll get a white one and style it. Probably impossible to find one with *that* much body, but I'll try. It's the best I can do.

But that's not the point of this post. The point of this post is the Millennium Ring.

See, I have no hope whatsoever of crafting my own Ring. So, before going to a custom jewelry store, I decided to try and EBay. And LOW and BEHOLD, they had one!

Or so I thought.

See, I'm stupid and didn't bother to read the dimensions of the Ring.

So, it's perfect, but the Ring I shelled out twenty dollars for has a problem:

IT'S THIIIIIIS BIG!

Yeah, it's like an inch in diameter. I was kind of let down when I realized that. It's not the seller's fault, as they listed the dimensions, but I kinda wish they'd said it was miniature. It was weird how I couldn't tell that it was too small from the pictures themselves, but I SWEAR YOU GUYS. IT LOOKED NORMAL.

However, it did come with some pretty interesting stuff. It had an info card, leading me to believe it is OFFICIAL MERCHANDAIS:

Side numbah one;

And side numbah two.

What strikes me as odd about the card is that it contains the Japanese logo AND the word Yami not referring to Yami no Yuugi, which 4Kids would never do. Did I accidentally pick up some real Shonen Jump merch?

Aside from that, this isn't ALL bad. I can use it as a model when I have the real Ring for the costume at a custom jewelry shop, and also it's small enough to wear in public like a normal piece of jewelry. I'm wearing it right now, in fact.

Anyone else got any costume mixups/mishaps they'd like to share?

ygo!dm, cosplay
