my thoughts on okami (ps2)

gave up 20hrs in... really felt like a chore for me. :( which is a shame because i really liked the art direction and general feel of the game.
to be honest though, not a huge fan of these type of adventure games. don't even like zelda much. so i dunno what i was expecting with okami really.
felt that the game had too many stuff you had to keep track of. life meter, ink meter, astral pouch, animal praise points, weps, wep upgrades, items, moves, stray beads, the list of certain enemies to kill, numbers of demon fangs..yadadyadyayda+more. yeah effort, i just really can't be bothered with games like this anymore. i want simplicity...games like warioware, rhythm tengoku, the bit generation series, shadow of the colossus, etc are my ideal now.
also, maybe this is a spoiler.... but, the main story gets resolved like 1/3 of the way in the game. meaning all that buildup from the first 10hrs is over pretty quick. so the rest of the 40+ hour quest is pretty much doin extra, unintersting stuff.
but i could deffinitaly see how some people could like these long adventure type games. i used to as well.
