Full house

Beren, my other dog who was long ago kidnapped by my mom. He's spending the night so tomorrow I can take him to the vet to get a mass removed. Probably just a fatty tumor, he had one removed last year that was suspicious but turned out to be benign, and now he's got another on his leg that's just irregular and worrisome enough that we're having it off, just to be safe.

With two big dogs, three cats, two skunks, and ten stinky opossums getting big enough they want to run run run it's a busy place around here!

They came and repaved my road this week - check out the gravel-spewing Decepticon, glowing red eye and everything! :D

Gandalf watching in fascination from earlier in the year, when they dug up the road for the new sewers. We're having our June weather now in August - cool and rainy, so nice to have the windows open and not roast! We're not out of the drought yet, but I've won the rain lottery the last few weeks.

Brought in a leaf from my catnip plant outside, which resulted in all kinds of rolling around and general doofiness XD

And a wrestling match over ownership rights to the leaf! Things calmed down after I tore it into three bits.

They "fixed" her hair! D:

With the milder weather, all my roses are doing their best to bloom, even the new kids. Happy Child

Scentimental

Climbing Pinata

"Broom wrestling" with the groundhog at work - he loves to attack and gnaw on the bristles. Silly whistle pig XD

Toast being Toasty <3

At last, quality time with the Brick! :D

Other random news - sleep experiment continues to go well. I still wake up a lot, but I sleep deeper and just feel so much better than I have in a long time. Concentration, energy - good stuff! Since I also have a few days off this week, I went to the library and got a stack of books of just-for-fun reading: "Before the Pharaohs" (the Great Pyramid as a tectonic vibration energy converter, ancient advanced vanished civilization, far-fetched but actually pretty plausible case-building, and chock full of absolutely fascinating details and theories. I want to believe! No mention of Cybertronian influence, though.) "A Universe from Nothing," which looks fun in a head-spinny sort of way, "Guinivere's Truth" and "Veiled Rose" for some fantasy reading, the jackets looked interesting, "The Moral Lives of Animals" which might be a bit too much like reading for work and stuff I already know but I'll poke around and see how it goes.

Also, I have gone to Goodwill, tried on 100 pairs of pants, found 8 pairs that fit and am now suitable for civilized company with pants that are not dirt-stained and with no holes and rips across the right knee. Apparently I kneel on my right knee a lot. Hopefully that'll hold me until next year!

Tomorrow: vet, staff meeting, send out invoices that can't wait, call to schedule tree dudes, give snake her shot, don't forget to bring home newspapers and potting soil.
