9. Dog person or cat person?
Dog or cat? That's like choosing between inhaling and exhaling! If I had to choose, the doggies are my inhale, but I could only hold my breath so long against a kitty.
10. If you came across $2,000 (or other currency) would you keep it or turn it in?
If it was mine I'd keep it (found $20 in my jeans pocket one day, that was awesome!), but if it wasn't mine turn it in - I'd not be able to sleep at night if I kept it. Of course, that's assuming I'm still in my current circumstances when I find the money. If I had hungry children, needed the money for livesaving medical treatment for myself or a loved one...I don't know. I don't know if you can know until you walk in those shoes.
11. What was the last thing that you bought?
Lettuce, green peppers, and five thank you cards at the grocery store. I did not buy the very pretty columbines and orange geum plants they had displayed out in front, but only through great effort of will.
12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Everywhere! \o/ Maybe Australia & New Zealand, if I had to pick just one. Or Galapagos, or Japan (dear Japan *hugs*), or the redwood forests of California and maybe I will find a banana slug there, or to visit my dear friend in Russia and see her little boy all growing up and hike the Ural Mountains again, or the Amazon Rainforest and dangle in the trees with long ropes to study the bromeliads and tiny frogs that live in them, or Mexico to see where the monarch butterflies gather in winter, or...
13. Where do you see yourself in five years?

14. Last book you've read?
Re-reading Valley of the Horses from Jane Auel's "Earth's Children" series. I was 11 or 12 when I read it, and wanted to be just like Ayla and live by myself in a beautiful valley and raise my own baby horse and my own baby cave lion. Some things about the series bother me now, but I loved all the details about the plants and animals and geology. Oh yes, and the lightbulb that finally went off during all of the sex scenes - ah ha! So that's what that's all about XD There's a new book that came out recently, but from what I've heard it's pretty awful, alas.
15. What are you doing this weekend?
Laundry, GARDENING!, WEEDING! (the little cherry seedlings, they're taking over my wildflower garden), clean out outdoor opossums, maybe release the overwinter babies?, clean out the fridge (there's dog hair that's blown in and stuck to the sticky goo on the shelves, erg), taxes, hang out with mom Saturday night, working on Sunday
16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I usta could play a few chords on the guitar, would like to pick that back up again, at least enough to sing some songs with the kids in daycamp
17. What is your favorite cuisine?
Simple, not hot spicy. I actually really like my vegetables, but don't have a lot of time to chew them at work so I've been depending on far too much of the fast food the last few years, especially as we've gotten more and more short-staffed. Thanks to this post by justbolts , though, I invested in a food processor and have been making blended fruit and veggie glorps to freeze and take for lunch - I can snarf them down between school groups. I think my eyesight has improved! I can totally focus on my underarm hair now when I shave XD
