So so much for having any writing time this week! Second wave of wildlife (including a groundhog who just needed a few days to recover and five tiny possumlets), Perseid program, big volunteer appreciation party, boss on vacation so I got to wrangle several contracts and dilemmas, departing volunteer coordinator so I got to take over lots of her

Sounds like the second wave of rescue animals just needed a little bit of food, water, and time . unlike most of the possum babies you've been taking care of since the first one of the year came in

Added to the second wave, a late season raccoon baby, who also just needed some food and water and warmth and time. She's now with another rehabber who has some other late babies of the same age, so hopefully she's feeling better with some buddies, poor kiddo was super scared. It's both fulfilling and emotionally draining, taking care of wildlife - the hardest part for me is not so much losing one (it gets easier, and at least I can give them a peaceful end for the most part), but having to draw boundaries on how many animals I can take. It's hard to say no
