Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve and/or a happy December's day, my dears! *snuggle glomp*

Have just returned from watching the traditional "Muppet Christmas Carol" with mom & visiting aunt and uncle, which when we finished and switched back to regular tv it was some CNN report talking about tentacle porn, of all things! XD Survived the bigger family gathering on Tuesday night, including several members prone to drama - it was loud and boisterous and occasionally awkward and alarming, but no major fireworks. I made some sweet potato fries as my contribution to the feast, and they were delicious right out of the oven (I ate half of my first batch) but didn't re-heat well at all, kind of weird and chewy. I got the job of washing mom's dog Beren so he'd be all spiffy for the party, and my tub and house are all coated in dog hairs now, awww. Toast was happy to see a doggie again ^^

In other news, I need to completely relearn how to hold small niece! She's three months old now and very wiggly. I had just gotten comfortable holding teeny floppy newborn, but now it's a whole new ball game: she wants to stand, and do back bends to look at things, and occasionally be cuddled and rocked but only in very particular ways, lol. She's starting to giggle and make all kinds of cute sounds now - so much fun!

New car continues to be awesome - I finally figured out how to reset the miles-per-gallon indicator and drove it to work this morning on the interstate, ended up at 40mpg with no rush hour traffic, sweet! I'm calling her Glyph, because she's small and kind of nerdy with all her tech (jumping nearly a decade in car technology from 2003 to 2012 it seems impressive to me, anyway, although I know there are cars out there with even MORE gadgets - navigation systems and cameras and who knows what all!). Once my budget recovers somewhat, I want to get a set of these to replace the silly car dealership license plate holders:
