I Am a Dragon*Con Zombie!

And not in the good, Michael Jackson kind of way. Whew, when that Dragon drops you, you hit the ground hard.

I have to say I had a blast this year. There were the usual crowd issues, to be sure, but being around so many cool people this time kinda made all of that fade into the background.

The highlight, of course, was the much-anticipated Rock Band tourney, which we won. Ow! Obviously we helped defeat communism there, but the main achievement accompanying our victory was beer money (from our friends at Battle & Brew). :-)

We had a great time sitting next to the Frolicon girls at our POC promo table, too. By Monday we were all so senseless that I think constant laughter may well have been the only way to keep us upright. Fortunately, we never once lacked in that area.

And, of course, we partied. Much love and props to thandor, kive, and the Outworlders for their extraordinary hostings. I'm hoping we'll feel safe enough with one of the hotels by next year that we can confidently rejoin you brave boozeslingers.

And yes, I walked out on the Thriller dance. I hadn't heard the song since I was, like, 8, and our trainer didn't have a copy to play while she was teaching! She also just really wasn't clicking for me (she was a shower, not a teller, and hello I'm a verbal nerd!). So with only three hours to go I realized I just wasn't gonna be able to learn the thing in time, and I walked away very sad. I wish I'd taken the time to learn it beforehand, but everything online made it seem like that wouldn't be necessary. :-(

All in all, though, it was a great weekend, and I'm actually surprised I'm awake enough to write this so soon! I had opportunity to tell a great many new faces about POC this weekend, and 2010's looking more and more like a blowout year.
