I got my haircut on Tuesday- yay. :) I really like it, and so it makes me happy. This was visit number three to my local barber shop, and by now a complete non-issue. I haven't gotten it cut in a few months cause it was really short and then it was growing out, and it still looked perfectly fine, and I figured there was no reason to cut my hair just to look like I had a really manly short haircut, it was manly enough and I liked it fine. But then it got longer and sort of disheveled no matter what I did with it. Which if I was growing it out, would have just been a growing stage I would have dealt with, but since I had no intention of growing it out, and it was starting to look rather acceptably feminine, I decided I was sick of it, it's time had come, I was getting sheared. It's awesome, I look so much more masculine now, and of course that's why my family hates it, but I LOVE IT. Yes, I'm a little excited about my haircut, sorry about that. I look in the mirror and am like- damn, I look like even more of a guy, this is awesome. Of course, leave it to me to get a really short haircut the day before a snowstorm. :)
I got a couple of compliments on it yesterday too, which was really nice, as I'd only gotten not-so-thrilled reactions at home. One of my friends said it makes my face look brighter for some reason, and I said maybe it was because there's less brown next to it now. Ah, the joys of a positive gender adventure.
