Josh had coaxed a somewhat recent (2001 was pretty good, considering some of ones he got were from the 50's), relatively reliable newspaper out of the bookshelf (New York Times, hot damn), and he'd felt like a little sunshine, so he shuffled off to the beach. He paused at the treeline to roll up his khakis, settling down in the sand to read a bit. He smiled down at the paper, relishing the feel of newsprint, the idea of a headline and a lead story, following from one page to another, trailing a story of interest. He ruffled the pages gently, sighing happily as he read through the front page section. Some semblance of normal.
He paused between the sections, letting the newspaper drift to his side as he leaned his palms against the warm sand, his face up to the sky, the breeze on his face. "Mmmmmmmmm." He cracked his eyes open and grinned out at the ocean, happy.
