Well, some words about my pets... (I will call all my animals "he", not "it" because I believe they all have souls!)
When I was a little girl, I was dreaming about a kitten... any small, nice and pretty kitten. But my Grandma did not let me take any kitten to the house. Then I've started to ask to take a hamster at least, an so happy was I when my Mum once brought a small and downy hamster and told me: "Olga, now it's your responsibility to take care of him".
Then I grew up a bit, and when I was 10 or 11 years old, my Grandma decided to let me take a kitten, I was so glad!!!! My first kitten was red as I am, and I called him Ryzhik. He has been living with us during 5 years, but one day he went for a walk and did not come back...
My nowaday cat is living with us during 12 years, we took him in 1998 and he still is our favourite. His name is Mars: we went to a confectionary shop to buy some candies and saw that there was a lot of kittens inside this shop. A shop assistant told that all they were living at their warehouse. We asked if we may took one? When I chose Mars, I took him to my hands, brought him to my face and felt that he smelled like a candy. "How to call you?" - thought I, - "Snickers? Of course not! You will be Mars!" And this name became his.
