Ask Ausiello has a new interview up with Rob Thomas, in which he's pretty spoilery for season 2 and also very frank about UPN's *involvement* in the creative side of the show. Most interesting to me is the following spoiler, under the cut.

See, that was my thought when he mentioned Bonnie Bakely. She was just trashy. I loved every bit of that description right up until the part where he mentioned that name, and thought it fit CC perfectly. But after hearing that...? I'm not so sure.

(Plus I'd just decided to watch The Inside instead of VM. I'm going to have to get that double channel thing on my TiVO if CC really is cast in the part.)

As far as The Inside, current buzz is Fox is burning off episodes to make it go away, so there may not be a conflict there.

I have a really hard time justifying two TiVO's to myself. It's not like my cat and I have greatly varied viewing habits. Then again, my niece visits quite a bit, and I really really REALLY don't care for Dragon Tales or Barney. (The Doodlebops, OTOH, I find strangely compelling. And The Wiggles are just plain fun. *g*)

Aww. I'm not surprised that Fox isn't going to give this show a chance, but I am a little saddened. I quite liked the neutrality and ambiguity of a couple of the characters. Then again, with Minear at the helm, I'm sure something would have hacked me off pretty quickly.

I guess I'm just thinking that CC could play trashy and have a lot of fun with it. But I probably shouldn't get my hopes up, because it's way too early for them even to be casting, I would guess. Based on the RT interview, they were just at the stage of putting together a list of names, so...

Well, no, not if he's looking specifically for a platinum blonde, but as far as being an ex-hooker/con artist, I don't see why CC couldn't sink her teeth into that kind of role! And at least it would be different from anything we'd seen her in before. ;-)
