Yesterday I got what could be classified as the very worst sunburn of my life. We spent the entire day at dog beach, which by the way is the very best beach for children in my opinion. It is very laid back and there are not too many people and there are always a handful of other kids who are willing to make sand castles with my kids. Also, yesterday the beach had almost and island effect going on. It had some very shallow water that went up to Amelia's waist and then a little sand dune that made it's way to the waves. It was perfect. The boys spent much of the time pretending that they were stuck on an island and were using their boards as pretend boats. I love when they get all creative like that. We had blast. Bela especially enjoyed herself. She loves hanging with her fellow dogs. I really do love Ocean Beach. It's such a great people watching town and hosts some very unique indivduals.
Anyway, back to the sun burn. I actually did apply sunblock but I did a pretty patchy job and didn't reapply throughout the day so my arms and back are pretty bad but my face got the worst. It's basically bright red. Andrew's back got slightly crispy which I feel awful about and Amelia has a few patches of redness on her legs. Jacob is the only one who managed to escape without any burns.
