Hello! This seems like a lovely idea for a community -- I love gen fic, and have read much of it in many fandoms over the years. I look forward to sharing recs here. Also, would you like to have recs for other communities that focus on platonic fic, or is this just for individual stories? Because Nomad's Multifandom Gen Recs, for example, already has hundreds of recommendations which your readers would probably enjoy. And there are other huge sites, like Potions & Snitches, devoted to platonic fic (in that case, to Harry & Snape mentorship in the Harry Potter fandom). There are also some good fandom-specific gen rec lists compiled by individual fans. Perhaps you could add a "rec list" tag, or a "community rec" tag

Recs for other communities would be wonderful, that's a great idea. Please post them to the Resource Post: http://platonicfic-rec.livejournal.com/1157.html. I already added rating and some general category tags. I'd like to add specific pairing/team/family tags depending on the fandom/recs. Thank you so much for formatting your fandom tags that way, it makes it easier for me. I did want to check though, if the sherlock holmes (original era) was for book verse or ritchie verse, the batman was comics, toon, or nolan verse, and the star trek was TOS, TNG, Reboot, or what? Thanks again for suggesting the other sites.

Thanks for your reply! I was thinking of the book verse for Sherlock Holmes (original era), for Batman I would select the comics verse, and for Star Trek I can start with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Thank you!

Hi! Great idea for a comm, I'm always on the prowl for good gen fics! Unfortunately, I'm currently only a two-fandom girl. Since the fandom: sherlock bbc tag has already been requested, I'll likely only need a few to start with for my other baby:

fandom: stargate atlantis
pairing: john sheppard & rodney mckay
team: sheppard, mckay, teyla, ronon
team: sheppard, mckay, teyla, ford
team: ensemble

You may want to set up a couple more for Sherlock, too:

pairing: sherlock holmes & john watson
pairing: sherlock holmes & mycroft holmes
family: bbc holmes (sherlock, mycroft, mummy, etc)
family: bbc watson (john, harry, etc)
