Why you would rec this?:
I was very favorably impressed with this whole series to date. In this story, the author introduces her crossover verse, in which Sherlock, John, Lestrade, Molly, and Mike Stamford are all students at Hogwarts. This first installment contains more character exposition than plot, but there is an interesting development which shapes the course of John and Sherlock's budding friendship. I found the melding of the two verses to have been done very well, though knowledge of the Potterverse is assumed, and I wouldn't recommend the story to someone who hasn't at least read the first book/seen the first movie. The overall tone is light but not frivolous, and the character voices are very well done. Bonus points for including BBC canon references!

Why you would rec this?:As the summary says, this is a collection of vignettes, taking the reader from year two to year seven of John and Sherlock's time at Hogwarts. The stories are uniformly fun to read, and do a good job of outlining the arc of the boys' friendship. Notable is an appearance by Mycroft, who has a bit of a heart-to-heart with John. Very well done, IMO. The end of this installment sets us up for the rest of the series, which will take place post-graduation.
