Fandom (please specify verse): Sherlock BBC
"Pairing": John & Sherlock
Title: VIP (and all its sequels in the Push!verse)
Author: Lindentreeisle (Captainblue)
Summary: John shrugs. It's not like he hasn't met Assets before; not like they can tell he's one of them, unregistered and untapped, just by looking. All he has to do is act normal and he's fine, like always. He's not letting Bill's rampant paranoia infect him.
Rating: VIP, the first in the series, is rated G, but later installments in the series have higher (and sometimes not clearly specified) ratings due to violence
Warnings: None for VIP except for a close look at a medical procedure; later installments have elements of violence and non-graphic torture
Word Count: 4,600 for VIP; @30,000 for the series as a whole so far
WIP?: All individual works are completed, but the series may continue

I really love this series; it's an alternate universe introduction of John & Sherlock, in which they each have particular extraordinary powers -- the government sets out to control them, and they set out to evade that control. I particularly like the somewhat antagonistic alliance John and Sherlock eventually form, and the way they work together beautifully even though they don't actually know or like each other much yet. The story is gripping, the action convincing, and the characterizations spot on. The world-building is excellent; it's based on a movie called "Push" which by all accounts was not terribly good, but the author has taken the basic elements of that film's fictional world and portrayed them with convincing depth and realism.
