It was elected that the storeroom between the trap room and the guard room was the best place to question Rita. Bronson and Tabth would stand watch the door and the unconscious hog-tied guard while Tyler and Jeff did the questioning. Tyler set up some nice crates in the room to use as a table and chairs, and Bronson pulled Jeff aside to have a discussion about the use of torture in this endeavour. Jeff was warned that torture would not be tolerated.
Tyler healed Rita enough for her to regain consciousness, and began offering her amnesty, a set up in a nice town somewhere, employment, in exchange for information.
Compelling Question - Do you know who killed Wes? No
Compelling Question - Do you know Wesley Shadbolt? Dawning realisation then yes.
She was ungagged, and attacked Tyler with a Scream. Jeff threatened violence, which seemed to scare her a little. Tyler continued questioning/offering kindness, the following information was gleaned-
· She and Eliza were friends, and both members of a group she called “the order”. The symbol she and Eliza wear around their necks is their holy symbol, often incorporated into their architecture.
· The order has a High Master
· They have not been in contact because they were meant to be covert in their missions (Eliza getting the heart, Rita getting the voice).
· She did not know that Wes had died, but thinks if anyone killed her, it was Eliza, because he would have gotten in her way.
· She is more afraid of failing the order than she is of them.
She begins shouting about wanting new torturers, these ones aren’t doing it right. When this fails to attract the attention of the others, she unleashes a wave of mindfire, which both Jeff and Tyler make successful will saves against. She is gagged again. Tyler puts her hand on the table, pours alchemist frost over her little finger, Jeff shatters it with his mace.
· The order comes from the capital, want to use these items to create peace, order, fairness. She believes them to be the good guys.
· She thinks that if she can obtain an alternate Voice of the Warrior, she will be accepted back.
· The entrance she used into the Temple of the Order was through the third boiler from the back, middle row, furnaces under The Bath House in the capital.
· She gives first names of some of the other order members
· Somewhere during this her hand is broken by Jeff.
Jeff power-slaps her, using contact to transfer a terrifying image of what they will do to her if she is not helpful. She screams. Tabth and Bronson hear. Bronson enters the doorway, sees Rita with broken, -1finger hand on table, slap marks on face, blood pouring from nose and mouth. Rita struggles loose from her bonds, leaps to door. Tyler trips over table. Rita gets to door. Bronson punches her brains out. She falls to floor. He drops obscuring mist. He and Jeff begin shouting and exchanging wild blows. Tabth checks Rita, who is very very dead. Tyler gets up and moves between Bronson and Jeff. Bronson’s next flurry of blows at Jeff hit Tyler instead, who becomes unconscious. Tabth makes a heal check, but Tyler remains on the floor sounding very wounded. Bronson and Jeff continue to shout, but eventually the kerfuffle dies down.

They leave the underground lair, Bronson frees the guard who was tied up (who bloody legs it), and proceeds back over the hill to where the dance took place. The guards have managed to settle the brawl that erupted when Rita stole everyone’s voices, and the area is filled with magistrates listening to an endless round of “But she hit me first” and healers tending to the more seriously punched. He finds the head magistrate, gives him the amulet and tells him about the underground lair.
The group leave town, deciding that Artie is in danger, and Bronson hires some horses to get there faster. Tyler and Jeff are not allowed to stand watch over night, but Bronson and Tabth saw Snowy Freeskies’ owl during the night. They ran into Snowy on the road the next day. He is following them because they seem to be trouble. He wants them out of his village ASAP, and will help however he can. His only deals with Eliza were in meetings where he was trying to convince the town to close the mine, and when he sold her the wolfsbane. He believes she uses this for the same purpose he does (dilute, drink, So Very High).
As they were very close to the village, they saw a small boy see them, then start to sprint towards town. Bronson caught him. Boy (no one asked his name) was off school that day, and had been given a leg of mutton by the guards to watch the road and come running if anyone approached. He was given 5 gold and a stern talking to by Bronson. Boy told them that the guards were looking for whoever tried to murder Artie, and then ran off into the forest. The group proceeded double-time to Artie’s.
