This week has been weird. I don’t know what it is but I was just in a ‘eh’ mood all week. I think it may have just been stress since I had an exam in Calculus Thursday. Work has been hectic however; I feel more energized and excited about work this week than I have in a very long time. We are getting together a road map from our current product (2x) to our next generation product (3.0) and I feel like we finally have a plan started with obtainable goals. It also is nice since we are doing the roll out in phases instead of all at once since we have 135 customers and I really don’t think we would be able to convert everyone to the next generation product in a timely fashion. But if we introduce it in phases the product can update them little by little. I’m nervous about the massive database structure changes and how they will affect reporting but there is a plan in place to use views in place of the old table structure. I have two new employees starting on the 16th. Training them will take a ton of time but it’s time that I move on from taking customer calls and become more of a manager and resource and get more into quality assurance. Letting go of the customer service aspect of my job is going to be hard for me. I feel a great connection with the customers we have and I also have this problem of mine where I feel I’m the best person to do that when I need to learn to help others with filling this need at work and know they will do just as good of a job.

Not sure how well I did on the Calculus exam. I got 23 out of 25 points on the first quiz so I think that’s a good sign but I’m regretting telling my mom that news since I’m sure she is thinking I’m just doing great in Calculus when instead I’m struggling.

Haven’t run at all this week. Maybe I’ll just take some time off from running and start back up next spring.

Today I’m at Dave and Busters for a demo we are doing for a group of customers. It should be fun though I still get nervous about appearing in front of a group of people even though I’ve known some for over 3 years.
