You know.... I was going to go on this long rant about how the closest theater to me showing Sweeney Todd and 150 miles away.... but I'm ranted out. I've been ranting for the last 2 hours.

So to start things out I guess I'll stick in this meme that I stole from

the_orange_nin who stole it from
aikei_chan, thus the cycle of thievery continues.

Anyway, let's start the new year off right; The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.  Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you!

Naturally, as I may have predicted, the Christmas spirit hit me..... three days after Christmas.  I got to watch Muppets, I watched LOTR (God I love those movies) and was ready for it to be Christmas.  My birthday's over so I don't even have that to pretend it's Christmas.

I'm finally trying to finish a book my boyfriend lent me like..... almost a year ago I think, called Here, There Be Dragons by James A. Owen.  It's about J.R.R. Tolkien (John), C.S. Lewis (Jack) and Charles Williams and how the three of them end up getting transported to this other world/dimension and from this world is where they got inspiration for their stories.  It's pretty good thus far, though I'm only a little short of 1/3rd of the way through.  I think it's kind of interesting how my favorite writer of the three (John) is also my favorite character.  Did I mention the author also illustrated it?  Double bonus.

I watched Turkish Star Wars and... OH MY GOD.  This is the worst movie EVER.  It's sooooooooooooo incomprehensible, it's funny, it's... beyond words.  You must see this movie.  I speak French and the subtitles were in French so I was translating for my boyfriend and his brother.  It made less sense with the dialogue than it did without.  Beating up rocks, "super" jumping (with the aid of strategically placed trampolines), oh and did I mention the random insertion of clips from Star Wars: A New Hope?  Not only did they have nothing to do with the scene (and didn't help us determine what kind of ship out hero was flying, it might've been a TIE fighter, a Star Destroyer, the Falcon or a backwards flying X-Wing) they didn't always play forwards.  They also used Indiana Jones, James Bond and Flash Gordon music.  I was laughing so hard I nearly peed my pants.

christmas, turkish star wars, sweeney todd, lotr, here there be dragons
