The Yu Gardens were built during the Ming dynasty.
They just amazed me.
There were long walkways, little pagodas,
ponds, lovely trees, beautiful halls...
one after another after another. It seemed
like there was no end to the imagination and beauty.
And they are still there - so lovely
after everything this city has gone through.
Such beauty and strength.
The Cathay Hotel ... renamed Peace
Lobby clocks... all ticking away
