The irony of helping people out

Yesterday, I took my brother to Tip Top to buy a suit because the Fairview location is closing so I'm getting crazy discounts (the entire store is 40% off and I get 30% off on top of that).
I met up with Felix there because he needed to pick up his suit and he was with Amanda, Edwin, Vicky, Wilson, and Calvin (sp?). I was being nice and I asked them if they wanted anything on my discount and they went and looked around and eventually Edwin, Wilson, and Calvin each bought a Sports Coat.

Along with my brother's stuff, I put everything on one bill and paid with my debit and credit card.
Edwin and Calvin gave me $145 in cash (their total is $144.90)
Wilson gave me $96.25 in cash (his total was $96.60)
I didn't really do the math when they were giving me the cash because I figured they wouldn't give me less than they're supposed to
So as a group, they were short about $0.25, which isn't a big deal.

My brother bought $321.20 worth of things.
However, we had to do some exchanges for size and colour so we went to Markville.
Tamara isn't really good with math and screwed up the exchange and gave me a lesser discount than she was supposed to. But the total short was only $1.17 which really isn't a big deal, so I let it go.

BUT
the thing is, if you add the numbers up, I ended up paying $1.42 on Sunday when I didn't buy anything and spent my ENTIRE Sunday helping people buy stuff...wth?!

Plus, I'm obviously not going to ask my brother for $321.20, I'll just tell him to give me $300. So basically, I spent about $23 when I bought nothing.

Of course, it's not really the actual amount that matters, I guess I just find it ironic that I spent an entire day helping out other people but had to pay to do it.
